Moms Do Better Than Sweethearts on Mother's Day
When it comes to flowers, more Americans give flowers on Mother's day than they do to sweethearts on Valentine's Day according to a 2004 Consumer Tracking Study by the American Floral Endowment. According to the American Society of Florists, flowers are the number one gift choice when remembering to take care of Mom on Mother's day .

How About Something Different?
But if you're looking for something a little different than a mixed bouquet, a floral arrangement stuffed with carnations or a bouquet of roses, why not try creating your own unique flower arrangement following a suggestion from Talmage McLaurin, vice president/creative of Florist's Review, America's most influential independent floral trade and design publication.

Scented Flowers
If your Mom loves scented flowers then single stems of oriental lilies can be easily found at your local florist or supermarket. “Perhaps the most sophisticated approach”, said McLaurin, “is to place dramatic architectural flowers in a simple vase, then adding a subtle unexpected touch. Lilies are one of the most versatile of architectural flowers which is why the superstars of lilydom, Oriental lilies – with their large flowers, heady scent and luscious colors – star in so many Mother's Day and wedding floral designs.”

Try an Arrangement of Oriental Lilies
For Mother's Day, McLaurin suggests a fun design: “take three Oriental lily stems and three sturdy broad blade-shaped leaves, use Ti leaves or any thick elongated leaves. Roll the stem of each lily in one of the leaves, stapling the leaf into a tall vertical cone shape . Be careful not to staple through the lily stem. Place the lilies into a tall narrow clear vase or large glass, with the lower stems submerged in water and the flower heads emerging only slightly above the vase top.”

What Colors Are Available?
The blooms of oriental lilies can be found in elegant white and pale soft pink. Look for the dramatic dark pink “stargazer” lily with its abundant fragrance and bold color. Even without the ornate leaf wrappings, this simple but elegant arrangement of lilies is sure to be a welcome Mother's Day gift.

Words of Caution
As the blooms open up, there will be delicate looking dark yellow stamens with powdery pollen. It is alright to gently remove these to prevent them from staining furniture, floors and anyone's face when bending down to breathe in their intoxicating fragrance. Lilies are highly toxic to cats and not recommended if your Mom has flower loving, plant chewing cats.

Developing any solid relationship starts by having a strong foundation. Neighbors are like family to us, and family may feel like a neighbor who is always near by. Both types of relationships need special care in order to thrive, and grow.

If a new person, or couple has recently moved in your neighborhood. Let them settle in for a week. You could get together with the rest of the neighborhood, and ask if anyone could help chip in on a flower arrangement.

Everyone can sign it. Ask the florist to deliver it to the new neighbor's home. You could deliver it yourself, however since a lot of the neighbors chipped in on it, who would deliver it. If this option doesn't appeal to you, try going over to your new neighbor's new home, and introducing yourself. This simple gesture means a great deal to the new neighbor. Bake them something! Baking your new neighbor a cake, a pie, or some cookies will leave them with a nice warm feeling.

If you know your new neighbor, has become grandma, for the first time. Tell them you're happy for them. If any tragedy hits your new neighbor, lend a helping hand. Offering help like this can lead to a great friendship. As each day goes by, one by one, your bond grows stronger. Many things happen in our lives, and having another person that you can count on means a lot. Liking your neighbor, will soon turn into, a friend that you both value, and come to rely on. Remember even when a neighbor has turn into a great friend, you must be careful. These neighbors you have grown to love have families of their own. They still need time to go shopping and visit their own families.

Husbands and boyfriends, they need time with them too. Be a considerate neighbor, and you'll always be glad your neighbor is your neighbor. This keeps harmony in this type of relationship. If you were to make a nuisance of yourself, then arguments would soon follow. This could end what might have been a great neighbor for life.

In order to develop a strong relationship with our relatives, we need love and respect for one another. Good family relationships don't just happen over night. They take lots of tender loving care. Be there for them if they need you. Never let them think of you as self righteous, and egotistical. Focus on ways you can improve your family relationships. Try to always be honest, never tell lies. Lies will only lead to mistrust. When this happens it's hard to earn back trust, after it has been broken.

Let your relatives know you value your relationship. Never forget them during the holidays. Visit your relatives as often as possible. This helps them know you really care. Have a family reunion once a year, to keep all relatives up to date on each other. Never judge your relatives, just focus, and be a good example. Let all your relatives know you are proud that they're a part of the family. That can be as simple, as smiling at them, or extending a strong bonded handshake. It's making a statement, that respect is in your heart for them, and it always will be.

Whether you be a neighbor, or a relative, don't forget about any of them. They're the reason you are as strong as you are today. If you help a neighbor, or relative move, you are forming a bond that will be as strong as you want to make it. If you put little effort into either of these relationships, they will whither up and die. They can't grow and thrive, without the giving of love, and respect.

Good relationships don't happen over night. It takes sacrifice! That means if you were planning to watch a great movie, and a neighbor or relative needed you, you stop and help them. Your neighbor or relative will never forget your kindness. Your bond will strengthen, and new hope for your future relationships will follow.

It is 8:00 on my wedding day. I stood alone and watched the empty space. "How it will look when done?" I wondered. "What if we do not like it?" At that time, my sister-in-law, Jack – the unofficial wedding coordinator – arrived on time. Before I could change my mind, I submitted my list, a sketch of the placement table and all other details are collected in a notebook my wedding. "Bye," I said, walking toward the door. "If not on the list just use your best judgments. I believe you! "The funny thing is, I really do. It was a beautiful moment, it allowed me to truly enjoy our wedding day while others handled the details. And although not every bride's brother-in-law are willing or able to become a wedding coordinator, you may be surprised to know that a lot of friends and family you really want to know how they can help you. The key is to ask them and let them.Does challenge your wedding planning to leave you thinking you might need to hire a wedding planner? During this initial meeting, you will want to assess how to respond to your consultant – questions and ideas. Do they appear confident? Knowledge? Organized? Bossy? Too stubborn? Shy? Confident? Rude? Did they take the time to listen and explain your thoughts and vision for your wedding day? The role of a good wedding planner is similar to a river guide; to guide you safely through the obstacles and toward you destination. For Do-it-Yourself BrideIf you are one of the many brides who plan your wedding day, keep in mind that you will want to arrange things so that the wedding day run smoothly with minimal intervention on your part. Ask yourself what you can do and can not do: Do you want to set up chairs and tables with freshly manicured hands? Do you want to be late for pre-wedding photos because the caterer did not you come? Do you want to track the money to pay the officiant, caterer or musician Do you really need to know that the cake was delivered wrong? As a former coordinator of special events, I learned three rules that help when planning our wedding: (1) Make a list and set up a time for each thing to do, (2) Expect some surprises and a factor in the pillows "'when appropriate and ( 3) Delegate, Delegate, Delegate! Delegation is required. No other duties will go further toward keeping your sanity and make your day a success. And, if you work through the details of the first, the delegation does not mean that you have to give up control. These five steps will make your wedding goes according to plan with very little stress on your second: Step 1: Ask someone who is not at the wedding to serve as the "overall responsibility" or coordinator when you're not on the site. This should be someone who understands your vision for the day and which could give clues to others. Plan details in advance (see Items 2-4 below) and be sure to let the vendors that these people have the final decision authority.Step 2: Compile a detailed fact sheet about the event and the reception site. For example, how many tables / chairs available on site? How much will you need to book? What time will they be sent? Who will provide them? Is the phone number, address and contact name of the person who gave them? Who will meet them on the site? Where do you want them placed? Follow the same format for your flowers, cakes, photographers, musicians, etc. Make sure that your coordinator has a copy of the agreement and each receipt must have a problem. Write down all information on one sheet of paper for easy access and including mobile phone numbers for members of the wedding, and the hotel where guests staying.Step 3: Making plans 48 hours before the big event. Starting with the wedding and work backwards. For example, if the wedding is at 4:00, 3:15 listing for musician (s) are in place; 3:00 pm to photograph the girls' pre-wedding; 14:30 for those photos; pm noon until 2:00 to hair appointments girls'; 2 until 2:30 to travel to the ceremony site … You get the idea. This will help clarify things for you and for everyone involved.Step 4: Set all the work for certain people. As a bride, the one thing you should do on your wedding day is to get her hair done and dress. Ask someone else to take your dress and handle all other tasks. Who will send the signs / balloons to direct guests to your wedding? Who will manage the program and guest book? Who will distribute flowers and boutonnières? (Note: Be sure to do this before the photo) Who's going to meet the musicians and caterers at the reception while everyone else was at the ceremony.? Step 5: Keep everything you can beforehand. Make a payment envelopes for officiant, caterers and other vendors and then give them to someone you trust to deliver on your wedding day. If you have an out of town guests, make a loose schedule for the weekend so they know where and when to be there. Discover how the wedding will be traveling to and from ceremony and reception. If you rent a reception room, make sure the key is with someone who is responsible enough to be there early and stay late to clean up and lock up.With some solid planning and help from wedding coordinator or family and friends, the wedding will be everything you've dreamed of. In our case, Jack came through with flying colors. The hall was beautiful, the reception was perfect and we were relaxed enough to enjoy all day as we celebrate the beginning of our new life together.

Decorating and spring cleaning can be a fun activity for the entire family. It is so nice to have a spring-like atmosphere for Easter and the entire spring season. Of course Easter is especially a nice holiday for some fresh foliage and flowers. Over the years I have tried different methods of making a unique easter basket with eggs, candy, grass, and cute chick-a-dees. Which of course comes out very pretty and fun for the young ones. However if you are looking for a nice Easter floral for perhaps a center piece or just something pretty to enjoy, I have some great ideas to get you started.

The best place to find some floral ideas could be your craft stores like Micheals, Hobby Lobby and even Walmart if you want to go for an artificial floral design. Believe or not artificial flowers are made so intricately today they appear real. For a really simple design you might go with a few stems of orchids, which come is some very nice colors such as white, pale yellow, magenta, and lavender. Orchids are always special at Easter, and not only could you used the orchids for Easter but if you end up investing in some nice artificial orchids then you can surly use them year round also. A variety of other flowers could be used to create a pretty floral Easter basket. The craft stores have baskets made out of moss which you could fill with flowers such as tulips, daisies, lillies, giving the basket a whimsical look will really bring out the delicate floral design. You could tie some pretty pastel ribbon around the flowers to create miniature bouquets places in a cup full of jellybeans for your best pals or little ones also.

Now if you are aiming for real, grown flowers there are tons of flowers to choose from. The white Easter Lillies can be bought at your local grocery store too. The lillies come in a plastic foil-wrapped pots but if you want to preserve the lillies you could invest in ceramic pot or clay pot and paint the clay pot in a pretty springy color. Another idea i had is why not make a natural twine wreath? I think it would be a really neat idea to gather up some twine from some bare bushes outside. You could gently wrap the twine into a wreath like shape. Then here comes the fun part, you could a multitude of fun things to make the wreath come alive. I think spraying or sprinkling some fine-dust like glitter in a pastel color would give the wreath a unique glitz. I think daisies or a even a string of real morning glorys would give the wreath a pretty touch. If you want to add a bit of cuteness then miniature chick-a-dees could be placed on the wreath too. Finally another idea is too simply buy some spring bulbs and planters, Lowes, Walmart, even Big Lots discount store has a wide variety of bulbs that could make a perfect indoor or outdoor Easter/Spring arrangement. This could be a money-saver also because the bulbs could be used in different spaces or you could find a small pot for each bulb and tie some pretty ribbon around it to give to your friends or co-workers.

Easter is a special holiday and it deserves to have its' own unique design of floral motif. Artificial flowers or real buds can add a light, airy and fresh feeling to the Easter Holiday and Spring season, so hop on over to your local craft or home improvement stores and start thinking creatively to make memorable floral project for this special holiday.

Spring and summer are the seasons of the small engine vehicle.  It is during these months that the lawn mowers, landscaping equipment, and golf carts get their heaviest use. It is also during this time of year that they get the most attention. These vehicles can last for many seasons over many years when properly cared for.  These engines need proper attention on a regular basis so that their performance can be maintained or fixed quickly before they evolve into bigger and more serious issues.  There will be times when issues with the engine cannot be fixed by simple maintenance or small fixes. When this happens, a complete overhaul or replacement of the engine may be necessary.

It really is critical to know the fundamental things of the wooden fence just before you get started. These would be the things that almost each and every fence consists of, and are almost universally necessary to create an attractive and efficient fence. You'll will need posts. They are vertical things which have been positioned during the ground. They rise above the terrain, obviously, and correctly set posts are important for keeping all in the other constituents in location. Some posts extend above the top on the fence for decorative functions and others are only as higher because the fence itself. Another essential factor of service is the rail. Rails act as spanners, connect the posts. They run parallel towards the ground and serve because the horizontal assist components. Almost every fence fashion creates utilization of best and bottom rails, and some also utilize middle rails. Eventually, panels are needed for that successful fence. From time to time the panels are referred to as boards. You will discover open fence styles that make no utilization of panels, but panels of latticework or even just straight boards are the primary elements that present privacy.

One of the best ways through the dark, cold days of the end of winter is to plan and prepare for a garden. Whether your garden plot mapping, scouring seed catalogs or simply dream of sinking your teeth into a vine ripe tomato, planning a garden can be as emotionally healthy as you physically healthy. One way to get a jump on the growing season to get to flower and vegetable plants start from seed indoors. Small plants can get as much as 4-6 weeks ahead of start seeds outside directly into the ground. Growing your plants from seed is a great way to increase your gardening budget, as well. If you plant a marigold in your nursery or home store, you can easily pay close to $ 3 for one plant. If you wanted to use 10 marigold plants in a flower bed, would you pay $ 30. However, a packet of marigold seeds costs about $ 2 and contains about 50 to 75 seeds. Gold Flowers are one of the easiest plants to grow from seed and will do well, regardless of how the experience has a little gardening. Here are a few suggestions for starting seeds indoors. With very little effort, you can save money and four to six weeks closer to your harvest.SoilFor best results, use a sterilized pot soil or medium. If you are in the soil outside, you will certainly do in the weeds, fungi and insects or other vermin. You can sterilize your own soil by heating it, covered, in the oven to 200 degrees and maintain that heat for 30 minutes. However, it is much easier to get to your nursery or home store to get a head bag of sterilized soil. Fill containers full of dirt. This will allow air to move across the surface, which will discourage mold growth species. Follow the directions on the package of seeds for planting. Some require little or no soil cover. Light Your seedlings will need about 14 hours a day direct light. This may be the biggest challenge in starting your seeds indoors. The sun will move past even the brightest in your home, so your little seedlings to stretch towards the light and become leggy. A special plant lights, positioned one foot above the highest plant will have more of a source. Leave the lights on even during day light hours for best results. Fluorescent lights work fine, because they emit very little heat and will not dry out your plants. WaterFor seedlings, it is better to water from the soil than from the top. Set the pots in a pan filled with 2 inches of water and let the soil or potting medium to enjoy the water like a sponge. If you're the top of the dirt'm starting to darken and get wet, remove your jars and place them back under the light. Although the seeds are germinating, it is important to the soil moist but not wet. If the soil is allowed to completely dry, the seed will die and will not germinate. However, if only the top of the soil dries out a bit, you probably do not have to worry. The correct amount of water maybe a little trial and error to take, but it is better to err on the side of "too little" because too much water will produce a weaker seedling. Before the seeds germinate and come up with their "first leaves, you may want your seedlings with plastic wrap or plastic dome cover. Before the seeds germinate, you will not have to have a slight growth. However, after installation forward, remove the plastic and place the seedlings under light.Hardening OffOnce your seeds have grown a second set of "true leaves," they are ready to move doors. (Real leaves are the next leaf to emerge after the first set of leaves when the seedlings sprout.) It is very important to your plants used to be outside the hardening off. To do this, put your plants outside, out of direct sunlight for about one hour on a calm day. Twice as much time every day until the plants have been outside all day. After about 4 days, you have plants ready to go in the ground. Suggested Varieties Great flower species to start indoors include: zinnias, marigolds, petunias, lobelia, stock, snapdragons, dusty Miller and Coleus. Vegetables that do well when started within his leafy vegetables such as spinach, lettuce, chard, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, tomatoes. Launch of the indoor end of February and March. Cucumbers, squash, pumpkins, plus other vegetables can be started indoors weather warms in late March and April.

If you use a wire service to send flowers? The answer is only if you do not mind your loved one to receive a lower rated system than what you ordered. What I mean is that if you plunk down $ 50.00 at your local florists to your mother in another state to send a bouquet for Mother's Day, they will end up receiving a bouquet with a value of less than $ 30.00 . What happened to the 40% or more of my order? Let me first explain. The hit $ 50.00 that comes from the florist who instructed you. Or they tell you or not, they are paid a percentage of all orders they send thread. This could be FTD, Teleflora, Bloomnet or one of the many services out there thread. This percentage varies depending on the wire service, but is usually around 10% or more. Some flower shops will tack on an extra $ 5 to $ 10 they call a wire fee. This is usually misleading and added profit for them since they already receive compensation from the wire service. So if your local florist not try to get in your pocket and not pay an extra fee, you're already established $ 5.00 as they get 10% of the wire service just for taking the order. Then, the wire service will also be a percentage of your order. This fee is usually 20% or higher. Using the figure of 20% you now have $ 35.00 left. (Probably less because some news will take more than 20%) the flower shop in your mother's house the city now has the contract. The first thing the florist will do is to deduct the shipping costs. This is the costs they incur to pay someone to drive you home from her mother and the flowers hand. The price includes the flower shop is paying the cost of the vehicle, such as gas, insurance, lease payments, etc, and any benefits they provide to their driver. On average local supplies run about $ 10.00 or higher, depending on the florist and the distance they must travel to deliver your flowers. (In most cases this cost is justified and worthwhile). OK, back to your arrangement. Of the $ 35.00 of the flower shop to fill your order, but they deducted the $ 10.00 for delivery so you leave your mother at a whopping $ 25.00 arrangement that you just paid $ 50.00 for it. What a deal huh? Keep in mind that these percentages are, I quoted an estimated mean, I've found that they could be more. So how do you send your sweetheart a bouquet of flowers and know that you get full value? The answer is simple, watch a flower shop on the Internet or a telephone directory in the same town or area you are the flowers for outgoing then, call the shop itself, ask them what their delivery charge and place your order over the phone. This ensures that if you send your $ 50.00 worth of flowers he loved plus delivery / she goes to the full value.
